Style
This logo takes a very friendly approach. Although the type is set in a handwritten typeface, it remains very easy to read and works well when placed in black and white. This logo is endearing and relatable, and will translate well in print or on the web.

Typography
I’ve used Daniel as the typeface for this second concept. Daniel is a much lesser known, more unique typeface. Because this is a “handwriting” typeface, it allows the potential donors to feel more connected to the loan recipients. This typeface allows Lumi.org feel more like a person than a corporation or organization.

Symbolism
The second logo concept features a stylized light bulb. The light bulb has long been associated with new ideas and light. But within the light bulb, I’ve placed green leaves to symbolize growth and agriculture. Because the light bulb is stylized, it allows the logo to feel less formal. The image and typeface work very well together because of the similarities in the lines. There are no perfect, straight lines anywhere in this logo, allowing for a personal, informal flow.

Color
As I mentioned before, the color green symbolizes security, agriculture, and growth. It is also the natural choice for the leaves within the light bulb. The blue is calming, dependable, and is also associated closely with nature. I chose to set the remainder of the logo in a dark gray because it is less harsh than a black hue, but still highly legible. It keeps the friendly tone, without looking disjointed.
